Profile Picture
To add a picture to your profile simply use any picture you have filed. If you need one, take a cellphone shot of yourself and email it to your own email account. Download the Pic file and then upload it to your ning profile picture.

Page Navigation

Main Page - A capsule view of all of the recent actions on the entire site. Members can view what has recently been added to the site by this quick reference area. A click to the hot button in the description will take you directly to that activity.

Invite Page - Use this page to invite other Educators to this site.

My Page- This is a capsule view of all of the recent activities that involved you in any way.

Videos Page - This page contains many Educational videos. You may add videos to the list or you may download them for personal use.
Members may add videos following the simple directions. Limit your selection of videos to those that pertain to building or developing a Personal Learning Network. Videos of a commercial nature may be deleted.


Podcast Page - This is a pull down under the Videos Tab. Archived Podcasts.

Groups Page - Pull down location under the Forum Tab:This page contains groups of members with common interests in specific areas. Members may join any group or start one that meets his or her needs.


Members Page - A complete listing of all of the members of The Edcucator's PLN. There is a pulldown menu Tab for Leaderboards located here.

Leaderboards Page - The top 5 leading content contributions by popularity at this moment. This is on a pull down menu under Members.



Forum Page - This is a page containing Discussions. Members may add to any discussion or begin one. Groups & Events tabs are pull down tabs.

Tutorials Page - This page offers links to tutorials for Twitter, PLN's and WEB 2.0 tools for learning. Pull down menu under Tutorials Tab

WEB 2.0 Apps - This is a Tab under Tutorials. It is a list of Web 2.0 tools as well as iPad Apps that would be of interest to educators & learners.

Twitter Edchat Page - This page contains a feed from #Edchat on Twitter. Members may view only from this page. Interaction requires a twitter account.

Events Page - Pull down location under the Forum Tab: Members may add any event that would be of interest to Educators. The instructions to add an event are simple with easy to follow prompts


Site Search Page - This page enables you to do a search on the site for whatever you are seeking. It only searches content of the site.


Other Education Sites Page - This page provides links to other education sites.

Please start a GROUP that supports your Networking Interests.

You may add a group to the EDU PLN through the Group Page. Name your group and define its purpose. You may want to start off the group with an Introduction or a discussion question.We will try to feature your group to get it started. You may also invite members to your group. The invite tool is available on your group's Page.

National Readathon Day

As if I needed an excuse to curl up with a good book.I've been reading voraciously since a young age. On my first trip to the library I came home with 21 books. I couldn't believe they were letting me take home books to read and all I had to do was promise to bring them back when I was done. I knew then that I lived in a great country. If I was a student of mine, I would drive me crazy.I took a PD class last week and I was the one being taught something on the computer. I tried to stay on task, but I sometimes got distracted, or bored and went off to look at something else, and I got lost.
