This ning's incredible growth is due to its wonderful members, plain and simple. But part of the reason many of us joined is because it openly champions Personal Learning Networks. The name is, frankly, brilliant. Our thanks to you Tom, for the concept and the community.
The PLN concept resonates with Twitter users more than most because those three letters are part of how we define ourselves. So, imagine an "eduPLN.ning.com" t-shirt for our community.
I'd certainly wear one to ed tech conferences. But here's the real value...
It would inspire PLN-related discussion in any venue with two or more teachers. And, more than a conversation piece, it would be a great way to introduce others to this ning and to the best professional development investment they can make--their own PLN.
Maybe we do a short run, say, 50 or so to test the waters. Perhaps someone on the ning can pitch a design to Threadless. Or this could just be an impractical fantasy.
How do you get people on board for anything? T-shirt. Simple. Practical. Fun. And it will reach a mass audience in no time! It is the true essence of the PLN philosophy. We should seriously consider http://www.threadless.com or cafepress.com
I love threadless, too, Andy. Just wondering if the branding would have to change to appeal to a more universal audience if we did something with them. In other words, it might have to be a clever quip about PLNs in general, rather than edupln.ning.com in order to get a high enough rating. Thoughts?
"My preference is this website is best.
Twitter is used for social purpose and EDUPLN is used for professional discussion which you cannot discuss on social platforms."
"Hi,
There are too many platforms of social media and the member of those platform discuss so many things and participate. So it depends only on you where do you want to discuss."
