Nesrin Eren posted a great read on the importance of play in class.  They also provided a concrete activity.  I love it when educators share ideas and resources.  In honor of Presidents Day commemorating George Washington's birthday, I created a board game on the events of his life as well as some trivia on the office of President in general.  This game is suitable for grades 3-8.  There are two sets of questions, one geared towards elementary, the other for secondary.  If celebrating this holiday is something your school encourages, try it out and have the students play in a meaningful way.
