The Educator's PLN

The personal learning network for educators

I am developing a page on The Educator's PLN to offer apps and tutorials to expose educators to applications they may have heard about, but have never used. I am trying to tie each of the apps to a video tutorial. I would like you to look over the page and make suggestions in this discussion Page for additional Apps. Here is the page located under the Tutorials header on the menu bar. WEB 2.0 Apps

What great resources you have all provided. Thank you!
Has anyone come across Teacherpal, it looks a good App for classroom management. One of my trainee teachers is using it to monitor attendance and progression.

Testing now!   Will update asap!

I have a few favorite iPad, itouch apps that my 2nd-3rd bilingual students love using in my classroom:
*Show Me
*Screen Chomp

Both of these apps are similar. I have my students solve math problems in math as they teach other students the many ways to solve a problem. The apps will let them record their lesson and video them, which can then be uploaded or embedded on a blog or other site. These apps can also be used in various subjects such as spelling and writing. I have work stations in my room and my iPad is one of the workstations where my students solve a daily word problem in math. They can work in groups or individually depending on content.

I'd like to recommendGlogster EDU as well

Try threering to collate photographs of student work, keep notes, tag names, subjects ect. It is a iPad, Smartphone and computer app. Highly recommended!

I think you can add Facebook, Blogs,Podcast and Youtube. You can show a video on how it will be applied in teaching and learning.

Oops, sorry guys!  Got bogged down and never ended up adding our apps list!   To hold you over for now test out "Endless Alphabet" for young learners.  Great for teaching phonics!

Also, "3D Brain" is good for teachers and parents alike!   Another one that AWESOME for EVERYONE is "Solar Walk"

Frog dissection?

Just posted this to another discussion, but thought I would mention eduCanon here as well.

One example: Rhonda Mitchell took a TED talk and used eduCanon to embed questions into the video and engage her students. Check it out.
