The Educator's PLN

The personal learning network for educators

Online project-based learning is an innovative approach to help connect students/educators from distance in the area of language and culture exchange. However, it is not easy to integrate this new methodology into tradition education system, especially in developing countries. To do this successfully, we need supports from different stakeholders including school principals, parents, educational administrators...And to win these support, we need to have a deep understanding about the pros and cons of online project based-learning.

Online learning according to me is the best way to learn as it provides a real time access to knowledge database. A user to such resources has a free will access according to his comfort scheduling. Online modes also offers many free test modules to gauge the performance at regular intervals. A smart classroom is all about offline resources being done for online medium. The database itself is the major asset of online project based learning.

Pros: Promote active learners, independent thinkers, advanced problem solvers in the context of global society

Cons: may be too technical for students, teachers (required IT skills, PCs, Internet connection, social/networking online platform)
