The Educator's PLN

The personal learning network for educators

Hey Amazing Educators!I put together a free database of over 2,000 kid-friendly, safe online resources categorized by grade level, subject, and standard: http://edutechdatabase.wikispaces.com/

Check it out and let me know if you have any advice to make it more useful. I created it to help teachers and staff use technology as an engaging learning tool. Feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Torrey!

Well done organizing all that and making it look so good online. I added links to a few of your vocab games on a Facebook page for my400words. Maybe you would like to add my400words to your list? It's an online academic vocabulary program in line with the Common Core State Standards. Lots of games are free, but not all. It's only $4 a year currently.

Your "Tools by Standards" confused me. Which standards?

Again, well done!

Hello Torrey. You may also like to consider http://www.spellathon.net

WiDA Screener 2.0

I am an ESOL teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools in Fairfax, VA.  I work in an Entry Assessment Office and we use the WiDA Screener to identify students who are eligible for ESOL services.  I'm hoping to connect with other teachers who use the WiDA Screener to begin a discussion about its strengths, weaknesses, etc.  Hope to hear back from you!Joe HarrisSee More
