I am trying to create my own worksheets, activities, and classroom signs in Arabic in English. I will be teaching in Saudi Arabia in the fall. Does anyone have any helpful activities or able to collaborate with me on this idea?

Hi Maria,

Thank you for all your suggestions.  Here are the movies that we watch in Spanish 4 and AP:  El Norte, Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown, Voices Inocentes, El orfanato, Todo sobre mi madre and Stand and Deliver. I am going to order some of the movies you suggested.  Gracias por todo.

Hi Gérard.  I am showing a movie tomorrow to my Spanish IV and AP, "También la lluvia".  It is a fabulous movie but has violence and profanity so you have to prepare your students.  On the topic of inmigration I like "Bajo la misma luna".  I do a unit on the Spanish civil war and I show "Las 13 rosas" which speaks to the role of women.  Finally, my students enjoy "El internado" - scary but with substance.  I hope this helps!

We are working with the present conditional.  We have read the poem "instantes"  Students will write their own poem using si clauses:"Si pudiera vivir nuevamente.." and present it using i movie. The project will include: the written poem, images, an auditory part.

My AP French and Spanish students are working on making an invitation to visit their haunted house.  The invitation must include:  a written and an auditory parts, vocabulary related to Halloween, pictures, and a si clause.

Hi Kevin, I'm an ESL teacher, too.  Were you able to find any others to collaborate with you?  You can follow me on Twitter @teacherrogers.

How Maya Angelou will make you a better school leader

Maya Angelou was right; "people will never forget how you made them feel".When was the last time you read something and felt really worried or annoyed by it? Maybe it was a text, or an email? Perhaps a post on Facebook or a Tweet? Or even a blog? And reading it gave you an instant reaction. You might have felt angry, or frustrated, or thought to your self, “What a cheek”. You might even have laughed out loud. When did that last happened to you? It’s only wordsHow can written words evoke feelings…See More
