Since a lot of dyslexia work is repetitious, it might as well be made more engaging and fun. Try Reading Rods for a literacy manipulative. The color-coded sets of interlocking cubes can be used to teach and reinforce lots of different reading and writing skills, from alphabet and phonemic awareness to phonics to sentence building. http://www.etacuisenaire.com/readingrods/rrspecialistkit.jsp
I looked over this website and it seems to be a great teaching tool to engage the students and help them as well. It seems that the color coded blocks would keep the student on task more and recognize the positioning of the symbols to form sentences. I think this would be great especially for younger children. Any ideas for a student in high school?
