Hello Jessica - i highly recommend Flipboard as an app to use in the educational setting.  You will create class twitter/fb site and give this information to students in order for them to post interactive videos, stories, or their ideas etc. and Flipboard will sync with those accounts and in return will create an interactive magazine that features the student's tweets/videos/ etc. This a link to explain Flipboard in more details

Running a pilot program in my school with 20 iPads for individual teachers and 2 groups of 6 ipads for collaborative learning in elementary classrooms. I am also piloting the use of iPads for administrators as PD and observation tools. I am specifically looking for suggestions on apps that can be used with the iPad to facilitate and improve teacher observation and feedback. Any other suggestions for apps are also welcome!

Thanks!
Jessica

This resource, by school librarian Joyce Valenza, provides an interesting assortment of links to sites for ebooks and ebook converters you may find helpful:

Barbara, when I wrote my grant I included data on our scores in science to provide evidence of the need for what I was asking for. Our students did not perform well in reading graphs and charts and I included data from our last KCCT test as well as the EXPLORE test. In my grant I explained my plan for using the technology and how this would help improve our scores in this area.

I'm writing a grant proposal to purchase a cart with 20 iPod Touches and a MacBook Pro, plus pico projectors. We're hoping that we can start integrating technology into the lessons of our techno-phobic teachers. I'm a part-time Apple specialist (after school) so I know the value of these devices. Can you give me any advice on what to put into my proposal to make my case compelling. We're planning to use the Touches for our freshmen first to video their behavior, video them in mock interviews for college / jobs, and then have them critique themselves and their classmates. Any additional ideas would be of great help.

Becky: I don't know much about Kidpix, but for typing and basic drawing have you thought about Pages? $13! You can't do freehand drawing with a "pencil" but there is a pen like drawing tool which can be used in conjunction with regular shapes.
