Hi teachers. I was just figuring out a list of all of the places (sites) where I have a login and password. So far I am at 21. Anyone have a slick trick for password organization? I'm thinking…Continue
Thanks for the post and comment. I sometimes get caught up in my projects and neglect my pln. :-)) Please continue to let me know what's up in the world of ICT, I have attended many sessions as a dvisional rep, in the past and continue to use and pass on this information.
My current involvement working 4 other team members- is establishing a new path for our School Divison Aboriginal Language programs. Last year was a "learning curve" and now ready this year for more work with our early years curriclum development teachers. So, will definitely get back to staying in touch with other educators on Diigo, twitter, and this pln network. Have a progressive, educational year!
Pleased to meet you! Since you are a BU grad, why don't you join the Ning I set up for current & former students? It is at: http://bu-facultyofed.ning.com/ - the experience you bring would be welcome!
I am a consultant with Manitoba Education. My primary initiative is Literacy with ICT Across the Curriculum (http://www.edu.gov.mb.ca/k12/tech/lict/) This initiative has largely been focused on K-8 teachers over the past 4 years but now many Senior Years teachers are joining in the conversation. Literacy with ICT is all about 21st Century Learning with a focus on the development of critical and creative thinking skills as well as a sense of ethics and responsibilities, when using ICT in the classroom.
I noticed that you referenced initiatives in Maine, Alberta and New Brunswick in a comment you left for another member of this ning. I think you will be pleasantly surprised to learn that Manitoba's efforts actually precede those other jurisdictions (with the exception of Maine). Please contact me for more information. We would be happy to have a conversation regarding the support of 21st Century Learning at your school.
Hi Roy, thanks for the posting. Its great to connect and exchange info in regards to goings on in our respective schools. I am currently involved in a First Languages program and will be looking at ways to help teachers use ICT in presenting, teaching, creating materials, etc. I encourage all our teachers to continue to learn about ICT and especially make social network connections with other educators within their respective grades and subject areas.
A 4 day Strategic Planning Workshop is pretty much taking up my SAG days. Give me a shout out if you have any information I can pass on to our teachers.
Hey, Roy. You have been doing a bit of digging to ferret out the number of Winnipeggers here. I think it's a good idea. Not certain, but there might be a Canadian group set up already. A separate one for Winnipeg might be cool, though. Tell me, are you on Twitter?
Good morning Roy, I teach at SJR in Winnipeg. My interests are very similar to yours, in addition I am a big fan of Moodle to set up eLearning environments for my classes - use the hybrid approach model. We are also adopting Google Apps for Education with all students this year to have a taste of cloud computing and the collaborative environment that brings.
It is easy to set up a group for Winnipeg or Manitoban teachers if you think there is an interest at a more local level. Thanks for promoting SAG. I am hosting a session for ManACE (I am on the board) -- introduction to PLN's.
Hello! Welcome as well. I am an elementary teacher. I am mostly experimenting with wikis and blogs right now. Have you tried Skype? It is awesome! I have a "cyber friend" in Ohio that my class partners with using Skype to communicate. Twitter is also another really good resource. Have a great school year!
