A journey in TEFL

I just posted a list of the web 2.0 tools and how I used them on my blog. http://evasimkesyan.edublogs.org/ and later I found out PinDax, an online message board creator with colorful post-it note options and I prepared a noticeboard with the tools I've used so far.http://www.pindax.com/myboard If you add the ones that you like to use, I'll be very happy.

A journey in TEFL

A journey in TEFL is my personal blog where I try to share what I have collected throughout the years. I tend to update it at least once a week ant it's a great pleasure for me.

My last post is on using glogter posters for listening activities on our class blogs.

I'm keen on warmers and fillers and think they save our lives so I really want to hear yours, too. I decided to post the ones that I… Continue

Wave invite

Although I got an invite for Google Wave today, when I went to check it out, I was unable to get on. I got an error message. I am so disappointed because I was eager to try it out. Any suggestions?

-listen responsively to books and stories

-listen to and engage in conversations with others

-follow simple rules

-respect the rights of others

Many of your colleagues have found value in involving their students in the… Continue

How Do We Treat New Teachers? Do We Baby Them or Baptize Them by Fire?

Posted from MooreOnThePage

I’m new to teaching. Sometimes I wonder if it’s obvious to others in ways other than my optimistic smile and twinkling eyes. Talking with veteran educators every day is one way I test the waters, and feel out their perceptions of me. No matter the level of experience over me, rank, or area of specialty, I’m always treated delicately. They handle their conversation with me as a one might a small child… Continue

RIP Gerald Bracey

Gerald Bracey died this week - a real loss for education. He was a relentless critic of bad research used to attack teachers and education.

This post summarizes some of his work and links to many articles.
