Project Design

The success of any project is largely due to how well it has been thought out.  In drivers ed. one of the few things I remember is the instructor telling me "to plan your route ahead of time, so that you are not making flash decisions while in a moving vehicle surrounded by other moving vehicles doing unpredictable things."  Seemed like very sound advice to a nervous new driver, and a new teacher.

My newest project

I have recently become more involved in an interesting pilot project that is building off of my summer research. Funded by the Gates Foundation I am embarking on uncovering the nuances of moving towards a Blended integration of technology into a Project Based learning environment. I hope to discover innovative ways to work with teachers and students and I hope that you all will follow and provide feedback throughout the process

Using Khan Academy in the classroom

In the spring I trained all of the Learning Specialist in our network on Khan Academy. They used it a remedial tool for students who struggle in math and as a way to provide extra support and practice, as a skill builder. For summer school we have decided to launch a prototyping of blended learning using google's new Chromebooks.
