5 Ways Preschoolers Benefit From Music

Music is all around us - from the radio to movies to simply riding in an elevator. And it's not just adults that recognize and benefit from music, but children too!

Music helps kids develop socially, physically and mentally - allowing the brain to form connections needed for almost every kind of intelligence. Musical benefits include:

  • Boosts Brain Power - Music stimulates the parts of the brain related to reading, math and emotional development.
  • Improves Memory - Music improves memory by stimulating patterns of brain development.
  • Increases Confidence - Confidence levels grow as kids learn to play instruments and sing songs.
  • Fosters Creativity - Music allows kids to express themselves through making up lyrics, melodies or instruments.
  • Creates Social Skills - Music teaches kids how to work together and how to relate to others.

Help preschoolers benefit from music by teaching them how to play an instrument, write songs, listen to music, or sing along to the radio.

Wow, thank you for this information. I believe this applies, too, starting from preschoolers and up. These are great tips to keep in mind, we are trying to calm children and help them relax and concentrate.

Music is a great way to help children to think, memorize and also to concentrate. many children can concentrate better withe the beautiful tunes playing in the back ground. These tunes help them to relax and relaxing is so important for concentration.
