Online learning is the platform where learning materials, guidance and other support related to learning and career growth is provided. But the pace of learning and culmination of the course depends on the students. But lack of commitment from learners might make them disengage from the e-learning programme.

Students might get distracted by updated from social media networks or YouTube and others. Their study might interrupt by heavy discounts or sale offers from an e-commerce site and others. Now the question arises- How to make students focus on studies? How to keep them engage? This is the major challenge that online learning facilitators are facing in the present day.

Things that can help to engage online learners

E-learning institutes offer quality education and other benefits. But despite all, there are chances of students disengagement. To avert this problem, students can formulate plan and steps. Here, are some measures which help to keep students involved and active in the online course:

Prompt & pertinent feedback

Timely and relevant feedback is very important as far as keeping students engaged in the course is concerned. Feedback could solve the learning difficulties or praise students. This motivates the learners. They understand that their online instructors are very much active throughout the course. Alongside prompt reply, the feedback has to be relevant. The reply should contain the related explanation in the appropriate manner.

Interaction

Interact frequently with the students. This will allow online teachers to figure out how students are finding the course learning and what are the difficulties they are facing. Regular interactions support to make involvement level of the students high. Besides, this also helps to retain the attention of the students intact.

Exercise of learning into real world

Ensure the learning resources and content are useful and applicable for them in the real world situations. This for sure will keep your students engaged.

Stimulation

Motivation is the another important element which helps students to remain in the course. Provide students with audio-video learning contents. This for sure will motivate them to explore more. Besides, introduce rewards and points to the learners who perform above the average level. This will encourage others to put additional effort to perform better.

Act on time to retain

Every learner has different need and ability. Online learning providers need to make sure students with different capabilities does not feel isolated. Students struggling to understand the topics or any subject need special attention. These students tend to opt out of the course. However, there are many cases where institutes and educators have responded on time with above-discussed measures to retain the students.

I tagged my usual tribe in the graphic so they would re-tweet it for me; they’re awesome like that. After that, I went about my day.…See More
