The personal learning network for educators
Imagine a classroom of students, working collaboratively in small groups, deep in discussion about relevant issues, engaged through online emails with experts half a world away from you classroom, and you, the teacher, just wondering around wondering what exactly your role is. You've become the 'facilitator' of learning knowledge far beyond what you know.
This is the environment that E-ngagelive has created in my classroom. Once a week or so, we gather around the computers in our small groups, engaging in discussions about internet safety, social networking, anti-bullying and many other issues. A small group of 'experts' from the UK (policemen, teachers, etc...) give up an hour of their day to communicate with my students about these topics through scenarios, role-play, trivia, and authentic communication. It's Fabulous!
It was simple to sign up... just go to E-ngagelive and fill out the form to sign up. You will experience your students engaged and connected to the world beyond the four walls of your classroom!
