Online Education: Can It Really Replace Learning in Classrooms?

In the modern world education is a part of everyone's life. Even if someone did not graduate from college or finish school, they still learn new skills or just something they are interested in. That can likewise be called education, or, even a more appropriate term is self-education. This concept is closely related to online education, mainly with the fact that you have to be rather patient and persistent to make yourself sit down and start a learning process in both cases.

According to recent statistics, which was held out by training Internet portal, 61% of students started studying online, meanwhile 40% drop out due to insufficient motivation. As you can see, the lack of motivation is a rather important factor of dropping online education.

The Pros Of Online Education

Education service, as well as any other sphere of human activity, is keeping step with the modern world. You can hardly find a person who would not know about online education or college paper writing service reviews which help to choose the best essay writer on the web. For sure, online education has both protagonists and opponents along with benefits and hindrances. So, let's find advantages and disadvantages of online education, but at first, familiarize with the history of online education.

This type of education is not indeed new, but the technology is. The concept is 170 years old and roots to correspondence course offered in the United Kingdom. The teacher sent lessons and received students' completed assignments by mail. This tendency is still working - some lecturers and instructors send practical tasks on mail even in the country's leading universities.

Today online education is not only about receiving assignments via Internet, but having lessons online at home. There is a big amount of pros of such educational method:

  1. With the help of online education service, the lack of professional teachers will not be so tangible. Without a doubt, the teacher has always been the focus in the classroom and the main source of knowledge. While that will still continue, most of the curriculum will, in fact, be followed online. Access to online materials increases and many educational institutions face shortages of lecturers and instructors. Thus, it makes sense to take advantage of the latest technology.
  2. Teachers will also find their "classes" growing, with video lessons available anywhere at any time. Teachers might not always give the lessons, but they are still there to encourage and supervise pupils.
  3. Being a part of environmental friendly society, we are for less paper using or its recycling, as paper producing estimates to 35% of all logged lands. Therefore, using the online educational system we can maybe a little bit, but preserve forest ecosystem.
  4. Children will be able to measure their level of progress through the training.

The Cons Of Getting Education Online

Among the cons of the system of online education is a long time of studying with the computer or any device, which can lead to visual deterioration. There might be also some problems with mischievous pupils, which is rather difficult to keep under control. The thing is they will have to be so motivated to sit and learn without being constantly controlled.

To sum up, online education now is something like computers 100 years ago - we are interested in it but it is not investigated properly yet. But still it is a rather good opportunity to save pupils' and teachers' time and efforts, so let's hope it will become a part of daily living.
