The personal learning network for educators

Here is a video a group of my students put together to promote the goodness of dairy to young people (for a competition). Throughout the process, they drew from a number of subject disciplines, overcame teamwork challenges and learned a lot about online publishing!

Early in the project, when the students realized the amount of work required to create a video, they decided to crowd source video contributions from other students in the school and beyond. Any student who wanted access to the dairy-written lyrics was encouraged to take a copy of the lyrics, shoot a related short video clip and then submit it to the team..

Two nice spin-offs of this approach were (i) it meant the team was able to draw video clips from a larger pool of creative content than if they simply shot the clips and (ii) it guaranteed the final product would attract more views ~ further promoting their message.
