I've been exploring  blogging and using wiki's with my grade 3 class. The biggest challenge is that many of my students do not go on our class website and blog at home. They haven't incorporated the technology as part of their learning and a few don't have internet. Most of my students are ESL and the parents are just becoming familiar with the technology themselves. It has been a slow process. For the students who are consistently using it at home, it has been great. To ensure all students participate, I give class time. Next year my goal is to involve parents right from the beginning in the use of our class website and blog assignments. If anyone has an idea on how to motivate students to complete small blog assignments independently, I'd like to hear from you.
