I am an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Humanities at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies -- teaching writing (research and composition) for nearly two decades (in brick and mortar and virtual environments). In addition, I am a Faculty Observer of online instructors for NYUonline.
I also work full time teaching English at West Milford High School, New Jersey (10 years).I developed curriculum for Film Literacy and Advanced Creative Writing. I teach English 4 and AP Literature courses.
Also -- an art critic: articles -- one on the painter, “Mary Cassatt,” and the second on photographer, ”Diane Arbus” – are included in Contemporary Women Artists (St. Martin’s Press, 1999). And playwright -- Men's Club and The Pendulum Moon -- currently working on Boots (a one act play).
My book, Preventing Plagiarism: Tips and Techniques, published by the National Council of Teachers of English (2007), is currently in second printing. I am a recognized expert on the topic of plagiarism -- have presented nationally on strategies to generate authentic writing.
I also served as advisor in the revision of Turabian’s Student's Guide to Writing College Papers, published by University of Chicago Press, 2010.
I founded Innovations in Online Education, Inc. in 2008 to provide synchronous online instruction to homebound students in New Jersey. We offer online education programs to New Jersey school districts.
